As we proceed daily with our lives, we must not forget or ignore the starving world around us. The minute concerns of our lives must not be allowed to dull our senses to the needs of those less fortunate. While we sip our favorite morning beverage and nibble at our second biscuit or croissant, let’s remember that more than half of the world is hungry.
“Do you not say, Four months more and then the harvest? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” John 4:35 (NIV)
If the needs of our community and family and friends do not occupy our minds, what does?
Dear Father, thank you for Christ who takes away our sin. Empower us with the insight and spirit of harvest. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN
