“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (Hebrews 13:5 KJV)
When things are going good . . . God is present with us. When things are not so good . . . God is present with us. A prayer for the fruit of the Spirit – asking God for them – is a good prayer. Even when they are not evident in our lives, God doesn’t abandon us.
God is our staff . . . we can lean on him. When we are on the mountain top, he is still the same. When we are in the valley, he is still the same. God is not “only” with us during the difficulties and tragedies. He is always present with us. He is a very present help in time of trouble, but he is also a very present help in the best of times.
“Jesus is all the world to me, My life, my joy, my all. He is my strength from day to day, without him I would fall. When I am sad to him I go. No other friend can cheer me so. When I am sad, He makes me glad. He’s my friend.” — author unknown
God is my encourager. When I think failure . . . he encourages me. When I think faults . . . he encourages me. When I think sadness and sorrow . . . he comforts me. O what a friend is he! He is faithful to me.
Dear Father, thank you for your faithfulness to your children. Empower us with faithfulness to you. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN
Be encouraged today in his presence and your faithfulness,
