“The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah. Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions. Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright. Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.” (Psalm 20:1-9 KJV)
What a courageous prayer! Committing our future into his hands by trusting him with any trouble that may arise. Expecting God to defend us when we need defending. Confident of God’s sanctuary help. Knowing that God’s strength is our strength. Pause a little while and meditate on the Psalmist’s words.
Praying with the confidence that our prayer is according to his will, we know that He will grant all that we ask or think according to his counsel. He does fulfill all our petitions! Therefore, we rejoice in his salvation and live to glorify his name. He has not forgotten us! He rescues his anointed! Even from heaven, He listens to us and provides his protection.
People around us may trust in all sorts of protections, but we will remember that our God has all power in heaven and earth. Those who trust in any other power will be defeated, but we who trust in God will live and never fall. Our battle cry always and forever will be, “Lord save us! Let the King of Kings answer our call!”
Dear Father, we know that you always hear our prayers, and we thank you for giving us our requests. Today, grant to us your sanctuary help so we may never doubt that your help is on the way. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN
Be courageous today in your prayers,
