Let Us Worship

“Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty expanse. Praise Him for His mighty deeds; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness. Praise Him with trumpet sound; Praise Him with harp and lyre. Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe. Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!” Psalm 150 (NAS)

Don’t you just love to go to worship services on Sunday? David joyously sang, “I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD” (Psalm 122:1 NAS). Songwriters Adger M. Pace and G.T. Speer wrote, “Oh what singing! Oh what shouting! On that happy morning when we all shall rise!”

Some may think that Heaven’s Jubilee has nothing to do with weekly worship and everything to do with the resurrection. Yet, Jesus explained to Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25). Do you think it strange that Jesus said this BEFORE he had died, BEFORE he was buried and BEFORE he was resurrected?

In response their questions, Jesus told the Sadducees, “But regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God: ‘I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB ‘? He is not the God of the dead but of the living” (Matthew 22:31-32 NAS).

And the Apostle Paul wrote, “Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus” (Romans 6:11 NAS). To me, it certainly sounds like we are supposed to live a resurrected life in the here and now! If death is destroyed in Christ, then our weekly worship services ought to be the most exciting places in our cities. We ought to be the happiest people ever.

God’s magnificent blessings! Elder saints regaling us with the mighty works of God! The power of the preached Word of God! The salvation of eternal souls rescued from the clutches of satan! New children adopted into the family of God! These are blessings to induce worship! Where else does such glories occur weekly? In the House of God!

Dear Father, thank you for your grace and mercy. With gratitude in our hearts, we worship and praise you for who you are. And you are great! There is no else like you! Praise unto your holy name! I offer this worship in the name of Jesus. AMEN

Be courageous today in your worship,
