“O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory. The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.” (Psalm 98:1-2 KJV)
What a great day to be alive! What a marvelous time to sing praises to the Lord! This is the day that God has given us, let’s be happy despite the clouds, real or imaginary. This our day to praise him for his marvelous blessings.
Think about it, God anticipated the lunatics of this world and gave us warnings about them. Praise God! Think about it, God gave an absolutely positive sign of his love for mankind, the sign of an old rugged Cross around 33 A.D. Praise God!
Think about it, God enabled us to enjoy whatever success we have to this point in our lives. Praise God! Think about it, God gave us chores — tasks — to do so that we wouldn’t be bored, sitting around all day twiddling our thumbs or begging somebody to text us. Praise God!
Think about it, God placed people in our lives — or us in theirs — who influenced us for good and we can even remember some of their great quotes (“anything worth doing is worth doing right the first time”). Praise God! Think about it, God created the heavens and the earth, light, sun, moon, stars, trees, flowers and everything else that makes this world — our world — so beautiful. Praise God!
Think about all “forgotten” blessings (memories, extended family, good times, friends, vacations, heartbeats, good health, eyesight, hearing, touch, smell, taste, etc) we still enjoy despite our forgetfulness. There are good reasons to sing a new song to God.
“Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise him all creatures here below. Praise him above ye heavenly hosts! Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.”
Dear Father, thank you for all the blessings we enjoy. Empower us to sing a new song unto the Lord. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN
Be courageous today singing about his blessings,
