What God Provides

“Now we have
received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we
might know the things that are freely given to us of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:12
(KJV)

Most of us
understand clearly that “no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of
God” (v. 11). But believers must not be deterred from seeking God by that fact.
Rather, be encouraged by these three facts. First, God did not give us the
world’s spirit. Second, God gave us his Spirit. And third, the reason God gave
us his Spirit is so that we may know and receive the blessings God gives to
those who love him.

That God would
“freely” give us anything is enough to make believers shout his
glory! But he goes beyond all expectations and freely gives us his Spirit so
that we may know the difference between his free blessings and the artificial,
counterfeit, unsatisfying “fool’s gold,” which
the world offers. Sensitivity to the Spirit will keep us from the enemy’s
deceptions and traps.

Dear Father, thank
you for your Spirit and his gifts. Enable us to know and access all that you
provide. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN

Be strong and
courageous today in all God provides,
