Sing the Song of Victory

“Yea, in the
way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul
is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee. With my soul have I desired
thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for
when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn
righteousness.” (Isaiah 26:8-9 KJV)

The day of victory
is a day to give God the glory. It is a time to take comfort in his grace.
Isaiah prophesied: “In that day this song will be sung, ‘We have a strong
city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks’ ” (Isa. 26:1
KJV).

The inference in
this wonderful promise is this: someone will sing victory. There will be a
reason to sing victory. And there will be hearts full of victory. The song of
victory will be sung in the midst of the family of God, because God has made
his covenant with them.

We might wait a
while for God’s execution of judgment, but we are confident of the victory. In
the darkest and most discouraging times, we still remember the power of his
name. He has never been defeated and he is our God!

Because our desire
is for God, our appeals go up to him in the night. We give evidence of our
faith by getting up early to commune with him and make our requests known. Our
spirit yearns for his victory and dread the thought of missing God. We seek him
earnestly! Indeed, we groan in the spirit that victory will come soon. And we
do not appeal to God’s justice, but to his mercy and compassion.

“And let us not
be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not”
(Galatians 6:9 KJV). Our great confidence is that God’s name will be glorified
in us. It is in the time of trouble and distress that God’s grace is our greatest
support and pleasure. We know that he is our victory!

Dear Father, thank
you for your victory through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Empower us with
a song of victory over every evil. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN

Be strong and
courageous today singing the song of victory,
