Celebrating God’s Covering

“I
will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he
hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the
robe of righteousness.” (Isaiah 61:10 KJV)

What a
time to celebrate! There is no time like the present to rejoice in the Lord and
shout his praises. “The joy of the Lord is my strength!” It is amazing to me how
much victory comes with each moment of praise sung to God. He is our God and
our souls exult in the joy of our God!

An
unknown author wrote, “The world didn’t give it to me and the world can’t take it
away.” This truth is clearly expressed in Isaiah’s praise: “He hath clothed me
with the garments of salvation.” Salvation comes from no other source. And not
just a sample of salvation, but clothed with it! What a great reason to rejoice
in the Lord!

Our God is “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to
repentance”  (2Peter 3:9 KJV). And “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”(1John
1:9 KJV).
Our God doesn’t merely desire a fan club. Instead, he wants a family
of people that he clothes with salvation and covers with his righteousness. What
a marvelous reason to celebrate his grace!

Of course, saved, righteous people are the most joyful of all God’s
creation. We know that we are redeemed. We know who has redeemed us. And these
facts alone are enough to cause our joy to burst forth in a celebration of
praise.

Dear Father, thank you for your salvation and righteousness. Clothe us with
Jesus Christ and cover us with his righteousness. I pray this in the name of
Jesus. AMEN

Be strong and courageous
