Sing!

“I will sing to
the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
May my meditation be sweet to Him; I will be glad in the LORD.” (Psalm
104:33-34 NKJ)
Singing. Everyone
can do it. Some sing on key and some can’t find a key. Some sing more
beautifully than others, but we can all sing to some degree or other. The point
is not about whether you can sing, it is about what you sing, and to whom you
are singing. Next, the question is: how long are you going to sing? The answer
is, of course, “as long as I live.”
So what are we going
to sing? Let’s sing praise to our God! That’s why you can sing, even if you
don’t think you can. It’s not about musical ability. It’s about glorifying God
for all his benefits!
And our meditations
of him are truly sweet to our souls. You see, if you meditate on God and his
blessings, it will not be difficult to sing praise to him. Believe me,
meditating on God is some of the sweetest moments you’ll ever enjoy. Try it. I
am confident you’ll like it.
Such meditating
doesn’t produce only singing and praise, but it also brings a blessed flood of
gladness that the singer cannot explain. It is like having a Bose “surround”
sound system. The gladness comes to you crystal clear from every side, and it
is so wonderful to experience. Let us be glad in the LORD!
Dear Father, thank
you for all your blessings. Enable us to meditate on our Creator . . . our God
. . . our Savior. Empower us to sing praises to your glorious name. I pray this
in the name of Jesus. AMEN
Meditate on God’s
goodness today and sing,
