“How blessed are those whose way is blameless, Who walk in the law of the LORD.” Psalm 119:1 (NAU)

The Psalmist pushes us toward a theological point. He considers the results of a blameless lifestyle. He further notes that blameless persons are those who walk according to (obey) God’s law. His ultimate concern was to encourage us to adopt a blameless lifestyle. This must be our goal and attitude also.

Our goal in studying the Bible must be to know God better. Our concern must be, not the rote memory of Scripture, but to increase our faithful obedience to the God of the Scripture. Since enduring to the end is our goal, the Psalmist gives us the ticket to achieve the goal . . . walk according to the law of the Lord.

Dear Father, thank you for your Word. Thank you for the illumination it gives to my life. Forgive me for the times I have failed to search it for guidance. Help me to be a faithful, obedient believer. I pray this in Jesus’ name. AMEN

Let us praise God for the Bible and live our lives according to it,

Pastor Smith
